Pula is the oldest and the largest city of the Istrian county. Pula has a long tradition of winegrowing, fishing, shipbuilding and tourism. The city's greatest monument is the most famous amphitheater of the first century, the sixth largest in the world, and popularly known as the Arena. It is one of the best-preserved antique amphitheaters and is still used today during summer movie festivals and various cultural events.
